    Sorry this was so darn long D:. tried to make it as short as possible. I’ve been asked quite a few times on how I paint before now, and I’ve never made an actual tutorial until now. Hope this helps clear some stuff up :). 

    Painting tutorial: get some fucking oil paints and fucking paint on some canvas you bunch of bastards

    It’s great to do traditional, but there’s nothing wrong with digital, and there are ups and downs to both mediums, so sit your ass down, and if you don’t want to learn this, then leave it for those who want to learn digital mediums. 

    Its one thing if you don’t think I did a good tutorial, it’s entirely another thing if you think painting traditionally is better than painting digitally, just because it’s being painted traditionally, and that’s just not on, and I’m tired of seeing this nonsense. 

    Qinni, you are at a level in which you don’t need to justify yourself to someone else.  You’re too good for them.  If they are willfully trying to not understand how art is done in multiple mediums, then that is their deficiency.  They are the ones missing out.  

    You do fantastic work and you’ve made a fantastic tutorial.

    We’ve just learned about another amazing artist creating awesome works of art using pencils. (see previously featured pencil artists here)

    Hungarian artist cerkahegyzo is a professional tool maker by trade. He carves pencils in his free time and says it’s both a hobby and a way to relax. We can certainly see how there might be a sort of Zen found in working on such a precise and tiny craft.

    This is a tutorial I’ve written two years ago. I still see a lot of people having problems with hand pains while using a tablet so I thought I might post in on tumblr where it should get to more people than on my LJ. If you use tablet you might want to look at it, if your friends use tablet you might want to show it to them.

    I realized, that I’ve encountered many professional artists online that have problems with wrist that are caused by using tablet. No wonder: you can find tons of tutorials on graphic software, but you won’t find any on actual USING the tablet. Well, it is simple: you install the drivers, plug the tablet in, personalize the buttons, if you have any, and start drawing the same way as you did with the pencil, right?
    Well… NO!

    That is why I decided to write this entry tutorial. Please, read if whether you’re just a beginner, or a professional that has been painting for longer than I have lived; the issue is much too grave for people living of making art to simply be ignored.

    One of my all time favorite anatomy references is this handy dandy little webpage here.  More than 750+ male and female photos in sequence?  check.   Outstanding b/w lighting on all of them?  check.  All SFW images but enough skin showing where the muscle placement is?  check. Contortion, fencing, parkour and other poses included?  checkity-check.

    All of that for free?  Aw yeah.
